Sales Agent Lisa Comsatun from Seven Stones Indonesia shares how she develops strong, meaningful relationships and trust with vendors and buyers.
“I love learning new things,” says Lisa Comsatun from Seven Stones Indonesia. “It makes every day exciting. Being learning based is an attitude and mindset that the team at Seven Stones really believes in. And at the end of the day it not only helps us provide better services to our vendors and buyers it also gives us greater opportunities to grow as real estate agents and as a team.”
Originally from Cianjur in West Java, Lisa grew up in the nation’s capital of Jakarta, one of Asia’s most dynamic and exciting cities. “I’ve always liked people,” she explains “and it made sense to look for work in the hospitality industry. When the chance came for me to move to Bali I jumped at it! After all, it’s Indonesia’s most popular tourism destination!”
After a couple of years, however, Lisa realized she needed something else. A new challenge. Something that still allowed her to meet new people but also something that helped her grow as a person. “Some of my friends were working in real estate companies and they encouraged me to give it a go, so I did.”

That was almost 7 years ago and she hasn’t looked back. She began her career as a Buyer’s Agent in one of the largest real estate franchises in Bali. “I have to say that in those early days I wasn’t really taking things very seriously,” she admits, “but then I came across some videos by Tom Panos, a very dynamic real estate coach and motivational trainer. He inspired me and helped me to understand that if I wanted things to change I was the person who needed to make it happen. I love his attitude and find him a great role model.”
After almost 5 years as a sales agent Lisa’s passion for the business has grown. “I’m much more serious about what I do now. That doesn’t mean I don’t have fun! I do! And a lot of that has to do with working at Seven Stones. They really focus on training and becoming better at what we do. It’s almost like working with a team of Tom Panos type people. It’s not like anywhere else I’ve worked. I love it!”

Lisa specializes in properties that the domestic market can afford, which generally means under the IDR 5 billion mark. “Most of my clients are from Jakarta,” she says “and they’ve been looking for Freehold titles in Canggu, Kerobokan and Umalas so they can move here to Bali. But that’s been changing recently. Now, more and more of my enquiries are interested in investment opportunities and the market is learning that Leasehold gives them a better ROI for that. Sanur and Berawa are the hottest places for my clients right now.”
The idea of learning is key to Lisa’s work ethic. “It’s not just about us learning how to provide better services and develop stronger, more meaningful relationships with vendors and buyers,” she says, “it’s also about us helping to educate them. We have to teach them to have realistic expectations and what to expect with the whole buying and selling process. I wrote a blog recently about that to try and help people understand things better. It’s not complicated really but it is surprising how little they know most of the time and how perceptions differ.”
Developing those relationships and connecting with people is what Lisa likes most about being a real estate agent in Bali. “What I’m learning is that people listen best when they trust you, so building trust is what it’s all about really.”
