The Indonesia Travel and Tourism Awards (ITTA) foundation held the fourth Bali Tourism Awards (BTA) at the Inaya Putri Bali in Nusa Dua recently to recognize and reward the best and brightest in the country's growing tourism industry.
Dozens of hotels in Bali received Bali Tourism Awards from ITTA, which has been creating awareness to improve the standards and quality of service in the tourism industry.
The awards themselves are intended to lift the status of the tourism sector and motivate young Indonesians to choose career paths in the tourism industry.
President of ITTA, Benny Nainggolan explained Bali was the most visited and most developed destination in Indonesia with more than 10,000 tourism industry players and it is important the island "always maintain and continue to provide quality and be able to compete strongly to serve the Indonesian market in the eyes of the world," he said.
This year, more than 120 tourism companies were nominated for awards across 32-branding assessment categories, including romantic resorts, hotel design, villa of the year, thematic restaurants, beach resorts, low-cost airlines, wellness retreats and green resorts.
Winners were selected from over 52,000 votes submitted from seven countries as well as online voting. Benny explained there were three-levels to consider in the judging process: online voting (25%), a twelve-person independent Board of Advisors (50%) and BTA Knowledge and Research partners (25%).
