More than 400 Chinese investors have been invited to invest in both the tourism industry and property in Bali.
Hundreds of Chinese investors came to Bali recently with the goal to improve the island's tourism industry in an event coordinated by Konderatu in collaboration with BTL Lifestyle from China.
An investment forum attended by some 1,500 Chinese investors and coordinated by Konderatu and BTL Lifestyle was held in Macau earlier this year. From this number 450 with the most potential were selected to visit Bali.
China imposed a travel warning for Bali from 27 November 2017 to 4 January 2018 because of the eruption of Gunung Agung. The event was intended to promote Bali as having recovered and is once again a safe place to travel to.
President Director of Konderatu and a director of BTL Konderatu, Herlinda Siahaan sees great potential in Chinese investment in Bali. He sees China as the world's strongest economy ahead of the United States and Europe.
The invited Chinese investors are expected to focus on property.
According to Herlinda, the Chinese system means one organization, such as an investment group, has many members who could buy villas or property in Bali and this would result in more members investing and doing the same.
It is also worth noting that the Bali Tourism Promotion Board (BTB) is organizing a delegation from Bali's tourism industry to attend a world tourism expo in Shanghai in May, which will further strengthen the perception of Bali as the world's leading tourism destination.
